About Us
Imara Medical Centre is the vision of Dr Simone French. Dr French was formerly a partner in Emercare Medical Centre which closed in August of 2014. It would have been easy to simply end her private practice career and focus on opportunities in the public health sector, but Dr French saw an opportunity to create a service that offers excellent general medical care and meets patients urgent care needs. Having worked at several local hospital emergency rooms she was all too aware of the long waiting times and frustrations felt by persons seeking care in those settings. With her unique combination of experience, professional credentials and vision, Dr. French set out to create a new, client focused medical care service – Imara – to consistently meet persons medical, wellness, and quality of life needs more effectively. Rather than taking the easy way out Dr French organized quickly, identified a new central location, designed a well laid-out and comfortable space and launched an enhanced medical care centre in less than 2 months.
Established in September 2014, Imara Medical Centre is located near Halfway Tree (on Winchester Road), the heart of Kingston, Jamaica. Imara Medical is borne out of over 13 years of public and private health care experience in emergency medicine and general family practice. Over the years we have expanded the team of qualified and service oriented doctors who are available Monday to Saturday for patient convenience. Imara Medical Centre offers a world-class suite of complementary services focused on each client and their needs in an environment that is accessible, attractive, comfortable and confidential. We have streamlined our office procedures to ensure very short waiting times.
Imara offers family and urgent care, medicals and corporate services to cater to all of you. We have unique natural services that target specific concerns that are difficult to treat through traditional means.
